What gives Gotham City its definition? Its not the buildings, the land or anything but its people otherwise how can you explain the survival of the city after its destruction.

The people have overcome many setbacks from an Ebola virus, a devastating earthquake to even the declaration of the City as a 'No Man's Land' by the United States Government. But the people of Gotham City aren't your normal group of people either.
