The East End is of course very important to my character, so I’d very much like some input and to clarify some things about it. Puck and I have had trouble trying to define exactly what the 'East End' encompasses. Below is the best definition that I’ve found so far, and I’d like to be certain that my idea complies with Mush Canon:
| Quote: | Cathedral Square/City Hall District/"East End"
“One of the first expansions of the city took place here, just east of Old Gotham. Gotham Cathedral is the dominating feature of this area, which was one of the first buildings to take on the "Gotham Style". Also in the area is City Hall (Selina note: before the earth quake), and the Gotham City Police Department Central Precinct, a veritable fortress. Unfortunately the area is in the midst of the East End, a crime-ridden area dominated by poverty and desperation. The area nearest City Hall is called Neville in a somewhat successful attempt to disassociate it from the East End. In the jumble of buildings there are a few older office buildings, including Wayne Tower, the other major skyline landmark of the area.” |
Here is a picture looking east from Wayne Tower over the East end. You can clearly see that the East End defines the Gotham Skyline:
Now this definition looks good to me because in the description of Old City Hall District [Southern Gotham] on the mush it says:
“This area is a mix of residences and businesses and is most noted for being the former home of city hall and the home of Wayne Tower.”
So here are my points:
1) The mush has Wayne Tower one room west in Old City Hall District [Southern Gotham] – which is no biggie as this description of the East End might be off.
2) May I consider the EAST END to include the Old City Hall District, and the One room to the East that I am descing: East End [Southern Gotham]
3) I would like to build the Cathedral – which is a magnificent structure and should be on the mush somewhere.
4 ) Catwoman depends a lot on traveling on the rooftops, just like the rest of the Bat Family. I’d very much like to be able to make some exits UP to the rooftops, but I don’t know how that’s handled on the Mush.
5) I would like to have Selina’s apartment inside an older established public building in the East End, with perhaps a coffee shop or something on the first floor.
6) And I’m having a very hard time just sending in the descs for what I want, because I don’t know how I’ll explain how it’s all to be linked together. :-)

1) Wayne Tower is in Old Gotham and the Old City Hall District (OCHD)room desc has been updated. Comics give the location of Old Gotham though some resources said OCHD, we go with comics over anything else.
2) The area is OCHD which was once referred to as the East End. In order to accomodate a more buildable East End vs just tossing a building or two into OCHD and saying they're 'in the East End' we've built East End [South Island]. So its really the other way, the big section is OCHD and the East End is a small part of it.
3) Its not the same Cathedral as you found but you're welcome to write a desc for one though I've yet to actually see it in the comics to give an up to date reference to it though it was featured in the 'Fear of Faith' arc in NML.
4) Roofs are no problem we make an exit from any outside room with buildings in it and from either built roof's or 'other' locations like balconies.
5) Selina's building doesn't have a coffee shop on the first floor but we could put the one in where Karon works if we can find the canon name for it.
6) There will be the East End room and at the least the building where Selina is and her apartment linked within it. We can build a 'coffee shop' as well if we can find a name for it. Any building beyond that will depend on how an East End org develops to keep the grid from being too cluttered up.
